    Well It's Been A While Hasn't It?

Tuesday, October 21, 2008, 11:11 AM CST [General]

I'm still alive....I just haven't really had anything to write about in a very long time. I'm still sort of in a quandry about where my path is heading but I'll write more about that another time. I really do need to get back into the habit of writing here though because I really love the fact that others here are Pagan and I don't feel the need to censor what I say here. I'm not sure how often I'll update this blog but I will try to write more often than once a year from now on :D. I can't promise I won't open another can of worms like I did about the Christian bashing (you have been warned). But I shall attempt to be a bit more tactful in my opinions.

When I get excited about something I turn into a big kid *grins*. I decided I'd like to have like minded people who are interested in studying these books to join me in a Yahoo group so I created one. I would have created a group here at Covenspace but I am old and it's hard for me to learn new things LOL. I like the format of Yahoo groups so that's what I'm sticking with for now. I was not aware there was a Yahoo group for studying The Inner Temple already until I read my comments after I already made my group. I suppose if there is no interest in my group or I think I will have time to be involved in another group I could hunt that one down and join it as well. If you are interested in joining my group you can find the link for it on my profile page as well as the bottom of this post. My only requirement is that you have the book or can purchase it within the next month or so. I tried to put the link to join on this post but that didn't work very well. So you will have to look on my profile page to join :).

    I'm Still Alive LOL

Sunday, April 8, 2007, 11:43 AM CST [General]

I just really haven't had anything much to write about lately. I have been re-reading the Harry Potter series in preparation for the release of Deathly Hallows in July. I'm excited and a little sad that the last book is finally coming out. Since the beginning I have been really addicted to this series. In my opinion each book has been worth the wait. One of the reasons I've been doing reading other than just for the pure enjoyment of it is that it's just a tad uncofortable for me to sit at the computer for long periods right now. I got my navel pierced last Monday and it's a bit tender still but healing nicely. I figured that since I'm in the process of losing weight and I will soon want to wear clothes that show off my new fit body I would do something fun that I have been wanting to do for a while.

As I mentioned in a previous entry I have been planning to buy some of Christopher Penczak's books. I was able to buy two of them plus the CD companions for those with the trust fund check I got in March. So today I will be sitting down to start reading "The Inner Temple" and as I read I will be posting some of my thoughts on the book here in my blog when I have the time. I've decided (With a little nudge from my hubby in this direction) to read the books through once without worrying about getting started on the exercises and "homework" that he has in the books. That way I'll get an idea about whether or not I want to use his methods as part of my own practice or just for good reference material. The only book and CD set that I was not able to buy this time was "Shamanic Witchcraft". Hopefully I'll be able to add that one to my collection in the near future.

That's my update for now. Hopefully I will have more to write about tomorrow after reading some of the first book "The Inner Temple" this afternoon.

    An Interesting Audio Book

Monday, March 19, 2007, 10:21 AM CST [General]

If you have iTunes I highly recommend searching for a Podiobook called Shadowmagic. It's loosely based on Irish mythology and I hope the author will put out sequels to it. If you don't have iTunes you can find the book at www.shadowmagic.co.uk.

    A little about the book:

Imagine being an 18 year old boy and finding out your father is a Prince of Tir Na Nog and that the reason you have been living in the "real" world is because of a prophecy that says you must die or the land will be destroyed. Each chapter of this book ends in a cliffhanger which I love. I have not quite finished it yet because I made the mistake of getting my husband addicted to it and he made me promise not to listen to the rest while he's at work *pouts*. Next time I find a good audio book I'm not going to share with him till I've finished listening LOL.

You can download this book free of charge and I highly recommend getting it if you are a fan of fantasy. There are two versions on iTunes one is "clean" although there is not a lot of bad language in the version I downloaded which isn't the clean one. There is mild violence in the story so if you don't want younger children exposed to it then I'd listen when they aren't around. The book is appropriate for ages 12 to 112 according to the synopsis on iTunes :).

    Give me Patience

Sunday, March 11, 2007, 11:27 AM CST [General]

I really want to buy some new books so I can get started on my "Back to Basics" quest. With only my husband working we're kind of on a budget so I have to wait till my quarterly Trust Fund check comes (and then I have to hope it's a big enough one to buy books). My grandmother left me a small amount of money which I get the interest on every three months till my mother turns 65 sometimes it's enough to buy five or six new books and others it's enough to maybe go see a movie *sighs*. Since my husband has a good job he lets me spend that money on whatever I want because he doesn't consider the money his. I should put in in savings but I usually end up spending it on something we both want like new books or something fun like that. March 25th is when that money should be deposited in my account and I am ready for it now lol. I'm thinking about buying either Brendan Myers' books on Druidry or Christopher Penczak's books on Shamanic Witchcraft. I've heard both of them on deo's shadow and I'm interested in at least reading their books. Whether or not I use any of their material in my own practice is up in the air at this point until I get my hands on their books. If we're really lucky I'll be able to get the Penczak books with my money and hubby will get the Myers books with his paycheck.
